Tea saponin triterpenoid saponins are glycosides with a spicy to stimulate the nasal mucosa causing sneezing, pure white fine columnar crystals, hygroscopic, and acidic to methyl red, they are difficult to dissolve in anhydrous methanol, ethanol, insoluble in ether, acetone, benzene, organic solvents such as petroleum ether, methanol soluble in water content, water content of ethanol, and glacial acetic acid, acetic anhydride, pyridine and so on.
