Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) are a group of three essential amino acids: leucine, isoleucine and valine. The ratio of 2:1:1 of leucine, isoleucine, and valine and is derived from corn. “Branched-chain” refers to the chemical structure of BCAAs, which are essential nutrients that the body obtains from proteins found in food, especially meat, dairy products, and legumes.

BCAA's make up 40% of total body protein content and represent around 15 to 25 percent of total protein intake overall.
