Description

White needle crystal or crystalline powder, odorless, with special sweetness, soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. DL-Alanine, when dried, contains not less than 98.5 percent and not more than 101.0 percent of DL-Alanine(C3H7NO2).
DL-Alanine, a racemic mixture of D- and L-alanine, is used as a model reagent for development of amino acid racemic resolution techniques.
