Used as an intermediate in the pharmaceutical and fragrance industry

4-hydroxycoumarin is an intermediate of anticoagulant rodenticides such as warfarin, coumatetralyl, bromide, bromide, murine, fluconin, timolone, croton, etc. The anticoagulant dicoumarin ethyl ester, ketobenzyl coumarin, and the like can also be produced in medicine.

Spice synthesis. An intermediate of the peony rhododendron.
